Anno MCXIII, exercitus rānšahr duce Šāhān šāh Ērānšahr Sapores II obsidet stationem castelli Bezabde in orientali ripa Tigris fluminis. Tres legiones Romanae in defensione praeclusae sunt, excepta Legio Secunda Armeniaca. Robusti imperii Romani primum impetum castelli fortiter tenuerunt. Postridie eius diei praesidium ab armis discedere et auctoritatem hān āh cognoscere. Quamvis incommode praesidium cum Legio Secunda Armeniaca dederet. Secutae sunt dies magnorum incursus, cum utrimque damnum. Uno die inter inducias, Episkopos Bezabde, legatus communitatis christianae urbis, cum hoste agere constituit. Ad sextum sic proceditur. nobilis finis urbis conservandae ab exitio in tragoedia vertatur. Infirmitates defensionis demonstrans, Episkopos praesidium et populum in arce prodidit. Aries ariete utens in puncto infimo, exercitus rānšahr unum murorum castelli Bezabde destruit, transitum intus creat. Hostes in Bezabde castrum irrumpunt, praesidio deleto, plurimos ex incolarum occiderunt. Sic castrum Bezabde cecidit.

Verteidigung der Festung Bezabde

Der Feind drang in die Festung Bezabde ein, zerstörte die Garnison und tötete die meisten Einwohner. So fiel die Festung Bezabde.

Въ MCXIII году армія Ērānšahr подъ командованіемъ Šāhān šāh Ērānšahr Sapores II блокируютъ гарнизонъ крѣпости Bezabde на восточномъ берегу рѣкѣ Tigris. Въ оборонѣ заблокированы три римскихъ легіона, среди нихъ Legio Secunda Armeniaca. Воины Imperium Romanum храбро сдержали первый штурмъ крѣпости. На слѣдующій день, противникъ предложилъ гарнизону сложить оружіе, признать власть Šāhān šāh. Несмотря на завѣдомо проигрышное состояніе, гарнизонъ, включая Legio Secunda Armeniaca, отказался сдаваться. Послѣдовали дни тяжелыхъ штурмовъ, ​принесшія​ уронъ обѣимъ сторонамъ. In the year MCXIII, the army of Ērānšahr under the command of Šāhān šāh Ērānšahr Sapores II blockades the garrison of the Bezabde Fortress on the east bank of the Tigris River. Three Roman legions are blocked in defense, including Legio Secunda Armeniaca. The warriors of Imperium Romanum bravely held off the first assault on the fortress. The next day, the enemy offered the garrison to lay down their arms and recognize the authority of Šāhān šāh. Despite the obviously losing situation, the garrison, including Legio Secunda Armeniaca, refused to surrender. Days of heavy assaults followed, causing losses to both sides. During one of the days of the truce, Episkopos Bezabde, a representative of the christian community of the city, decided to negotiate with the enemy. It would seem that the noble goal of preserving the city from destruction turned into a tragedy. Pointing out the weak points of the defense, Episkopos betrayed the garrison and the people in the fortress. Using a battering ram in a weak spot, the Ērānšahr army destroys one of the walls of the Bezabde fortress, creating a passage inside. The enemy broke into the Bezabde fortress, destroyed the garrison, killed most of the inhabitants. Thus the Bezabde fortress fell.
